at Latitude 10°
Tucked away in one of Costa Rica’s lushest corners, we feel a strong duty towards our natural surroundings and environment. Here are just some of the ways we practice nature conservation at the resort.
Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve
We help keep Costa Rica’s first protected area lush and beautiful.
Each month, many of our staff members volunteer to clean up and maintain the trails at Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve. This helps minimize the human impact on the reserve’s wild residents, and keeps things looking lovely for some 8,000 visitors a year. The nature trails wind through hundreds of acres of jungle to a white-sand beach.
Doing our part to care for Santa Teresa’s greatest asset.
For even the most seasoned of travellers, our local beaches are nothing short of impressive. Their clean white sands stretch for miles, and the rainforest backdrop gives them a raw beauty. To keep them this pristine, every day we clean up the beach in front of the hotel. Once a month we volunteer with the Ambientalistas community group to clean the nearby beaches too.
Our 5-Acre Jungle
Our trees are right where they belong!
Latitude 10° isn’t the typical, manicured beach resort that you might be used to. Despite being just steps from the beach, we’re fully immersed in nature. Latitude 10° was designed in such a way as to avoid cutting down any trees. We’ve also used predominantly native plants in the landscaping which attract local wildlife. You’ll have the Costa Rican rainforest experience here too!
A Way To Live Simply
“Latitude 10° was a perfect place to be a part of nature, and live simply and peacefully. They place a strong emphasis on conservation of water and the environment too. The people here have great attitudes and by the end of the week you’ll live by their motto, “Pura Vida” which means “Pure Life”!”
